“A haven in the Tyrol”, the AS Interior Design sitting room for Gancedo

In their most recent partnership with Gancedo, AS Interior Design has created a haven conjuring up the warmth and comfort of a midwinter mountain retreat. This temporary space captures the cosy feeling of an Alpine room, perfect for relaxing after a day’s skiing. With the help of an exquisite selection of textiles and decorative details, the interior designers Adriana Somoza and Caridad Tercero invite us to wallow in an environment where luxury and natural beauty intertwine harmoniously.

A sophisticated textile universe

The sitting room designed by AS Interior Design revolves around textiles, the undoubted stars of the space. The central piece is a modern padded sofa, upholstered in an eye-catching linen in green and ochre stripes from the Mind the Gap company. This sofa, accompanied by cushions decorated with sophisticated trimming, contrasts boldly with its surroundings, standing out on account of its originality and elegance. What’s more, the walls are covered with curtains in an iconic William Morris print, lending an atmosphere of timeless, mediaeval design, albeit reimagined for new generations.

“We wanted a pleasant, elegant space which would demonstrate the versatility of Gancedo textiles,” the interior designers explain.

The turquoise ceiling beams add an unexpected element, while the Christmas wreath by Marengo Flores, featuring tangerines and cinnamon, enhances the festive winter feel of the sitting room.

Motifs and seasonal elegance

The environment is finished off using velvets with hunting motifs, where scenes of dogs in the midst of nature decorate a screen, adding an elegant pastoral touch. These velvets, also from Mind the Gap, evoke the feeling of being surrounded by the flora and fauna of the forest.

Colours inspired by nature

The colour palette of the sitting room is dominated by a rich blend of greens, oranges and ochres, which create a space full of life, but at the same time harmonious and relaxing. The blend of textures and patterns, from tartans to hunting motifs and mediaeval reinterpretations, lends depth and character to the environment. Each textile detail seems to tell a story, conveying originality, warmth and a connection with nature, perfect for an Alpine setting.

Curtains

Designed as a key element of the sitting room, they form a continuation of the curtains which grace the sitting room walls. Albeit in this case, they are accompanied by a roller blind, lightweight in texture with a subtle border. Just in front of the window, the interior designers have placed a sculpture on a pedestal with mirrored sides.
