Fabrics to decorate your garden. Write these tips down!

It’s summer! Days are longer, the temperature is going up and what we really want is to enjoy the sun, the open air, lay on a hammock next to the pool, and unplug. It’s imperative, therefore, to have that exterior space (be it a wonderful garden or a “humble” terrace) nicely decorated to make it an enjoyable space. What do you need? Write it down: some furniture, flowers and plants, and of course, fabrics to decorate the garden, in exterior and summery textiles. We’ll start with one of our international firms: Fabricut, and their Kendall Wilkinson collection.   You’ll love them because they are exterior fabrics, durable and comfortable, with sophisticated colors and timeless patterns.     Cushions and more cushions! If you dream of enjoying a nice nap in the shade or relaxing with a good book, you’ll need a seat that is truly comfortable and for that, there’s nothing better than a fluffy mat and plenty of cushions. This chaise lounge of braided fabric has been completed by a mat made with Broadway Chenille Sunset, a plain fabric, while the cushions have been adorned with the Bengal Tiger Sun and Woodlands Sun patterned fabrics. All of these, of course, durable and UV-rays resistant.   Also Fabricut’s Kendall Wilkinson collection, these exterior fabrics were chosen to make the cushion covers, with fashionable patterns. What makes them really attractive, however, it’s their composition: a type of weave called Bella Dura, suitable both for interiors and exteriors, which distinguishes itself for meeting and exceeding – by far – the standards for durability and longevity. All the patterns exceed 50,000 double rubbings for abrasion and are resistant to globule formation. They are also stain-resistant and are easily cleaned with soapy water or a mild detergent.     Robert Allen is another of our international firms whose catalog is graced with a wide selection of both plain and textured fabrics.     Robert Allen’s fabrics are made from Sunbrella fibers, which are wear-resistant and are also resistant to the negative effects of direct sunlight exposure. Best of all, thanks to the dying techniques employed in their manufacturing, the lovely and lively colors will remain unaltered. You’ll agree, I’m sure, that when it’s the pattern and colors that we enjoy the most out of a fabric, there’s nothing sadder than seeing how that intensity fades away.     Are you familiar with our Gancedo Ready line? These are ready-made articles (plaids, cushions, rugs) with natural fabrics (linen, cotton, wool or silk). Not all of them are exterior-specific, but they are so fresh and light that we think them ideal for a summer decoration.   What an inspiring image to improvise a relax spot: a mat covered in a walnut-colored Celulosa II, from the Port Lligat collection; cushions made with Ciprés in lime and carbon colors, from the same collection, designed by Serge Castella, and the lot enveloped by a beautiful net curtain in nude-colored Star serving as a parasol. The rug, 100% polypropylene, is the coveted Ies Outdoor model in a Platinum White color, and this one really is exterior-proof. It measures 140 by 200 cm.   Daybeds are the latest trend in exterior furniture. And, let’s be honest: who wouldn’t like an exterior bed in their porch or garden? We’ll help you dress it up, with interior and exterior fabrics. The two cushions at the back are made with Indian exterior fabric: on the left is Mexican Embroidery and on the right is Block Embroidery in the color Denim Ivory. The striped cushion on the right is also for exteriors; it’s the Stripe model in the color Denim Ivory. All of them are from the Gancedo Ready accessory collection and measure 50 by 50 cm.   The ambient has been completed with other pieces that are not specifically for exteriors, like the Mestral net curtains from the Tramuntana collection, made of linen and loose threads; the mat, made with Gila fabric from the Gran Cañón collection, in blue; the two cushions that we see in the foreground, made with Batons (diamonds) and Yoshino (labyrinth) fabrics in roof tile color, both from the Sakura collection; and the Rescaza-Terrace plaid, from Gancedo Ready, in blue.     Now this is an exterior bed! When square footage is not a problem, it’s a great idea to replace the traditional hammock with a bed such as this, which transforms a corner of the garden into an improvised bedroom where you can enjoy a replenishing nap… and who knows, maybe it’ll also transform itself into the perfect place to sleep in a hot summer’s night. To dress up this marvelous bed we’ve chosen fabrics from the new Islas collection, by Gancedo. 100% polypropylene and with a width of 1.40 m. They are so new they have not even arrived at our stores yet, but they will be on sale soon.     How easy it is to create a little comfortable corner in the shade! A rug, some fluffy cushions and ... et voilà! The rug is our Ies Outdoor model, made with polypropylene, and the cushions with Block Embroidery, in the shade Denim Ivory.     The net curtains, aside from sifting the light to block its path, can also help create boundaries for ambiances in a garden.  The ones pictured are the Plomado model, in linen and polyester.   The stool is the Acacia model, from the furniture collection by Gancedo, with Alga upholstery, in the color beige, from the Port Lligat collection by Serge Castella for Gancedo. The cushions have been made with Esparto cotton, from the same collection.     The Plomado net curtain is one of my favorites. I love its design, with the geometric pattern which looks embroidered, ideal for contemporary décor.     The folding loungers are an ideal solution for small spaces, as well as improvised expositors of our Alga, Ciprés and Rescaza fabrics, all in the color Rouge, from the Port Lligat collection.     The Barbados and Varadero fabrics, from the Islas collection by Gancedo, are also ideal for exteriors. Made with 100% polypropylene, they are specially resistant to sun and humidity.
