Geometrical wallpapers: Gancedo’s new Malibú collection

Are you looking for ideas to decorate the walls of your home and make them attractive? Papering with geometrical prints is the perfect solution which is, also, on trend. Fabrics and wallpapers recalling the 60s and 70s are in fashion, although it is true to say that the colours and patterns have been toned down, creating the effect of shade upon shade so that they are easy to mix and match and won’t quickly go out of fashion. Gancedo, always on top of the latest trends, has just launched Malibú, the second wallpaper collection that the textile company has presented, in this case featuring patterns recalling the wallpaper prints that decorated the walls of the 70s decade. Unafraid to challenge conventionality and with the addition of geometrical, ethnic, herringbone and psychedelic details that produce surprising visual effects, the prints are the key players in this new collection brimming over with imagination.

The inspiration

Californian beaches along with their luxurious 70s homes have provided the inspiration for this collection of wallpapers that whisk us back to the Hollywood glamour of that decade. In interiors where light woods predominate, a wall decorated in warm colours in pastel shades with beige and ecru in geometrical motifs will convey an air of sweetness. Cold colours in pastel shades combined with whites and neutrals in geometrical sketches are an ideal choice for producing calm, elegant environments. It does not matter if the pattern is among the most ground-breaking provided the colour palette is soothing. Like the Beverly Hills pattern; extra-extra-large curves in ranges of blue and beige. To avoid overdoing it, it would be best to paper only one wall and balance the rest by painting them in a totally contrasting colour, or in a tone which blends in with the wallpaper scheme.

Patterns which go with any decorating scheme
